Shopping and gambling are the two biggest reasons to visit Reno, Nevada, so if you're a mall rat looking for the best and biggest places to shop while you're in the city, you've come to the right place. Whatever your pleasure, be it used woodworking machinery or brand new designer dresses, our shopping guide to Reno will tell you where to find it. Give it a read over, then get out there and get shopping!
Meadowood Mall
There's only one way to describe Reno's Meadowood Mall: mega. It's not known for its decor or its attached entertainment venues but for the sheer volume of stores contained within its walls: over 100. Its horseshoe design allows you to find your organic baby bath products with a minimum of fuss if you're on a surgical strike, or easily keep track of where you've already been if you're taking the time to browse. Shops you'll find here include upscale clothiers, sporting goods, department stores, jewelry, accessories, toys, furniture, and more.
Summit Sierra
Why come all the way to Reno only to spend all your time indoors away from its fabulously warm and sunny weather? This was the impetuous behind the development of Summit Sierra, Reno's outdoor shopping mall which allows you to pick up cloth training pants and a tan at the same time. You'll find all the clothing, shoes, toys, home furnishings, jewelry, restaurants, electronics, and beauty products you'd find in a normal indoor mall, but arranged on a series of walkable streets with plenty of parking.
Sparks Marina
The Sparks Marina is so hip and new that it's not even finished yet. Don't let that stop you from dropping in to check out its unique collection of upscale retailers, entertainment venues, and restaurants, however. What's already there is worth the sight of the occasional incomplete wire duct. There are free concerts on summer Saturday afternoons, so check one out in between browsing the factory outlet shops, gaming at the casino, and shopping.
The Riverwalk
If malls aren't your thing, perhaps you'd like to take a stroll along the Riverwalk and window shop in the unique specialty stores tucked into this shopping district located along the Truckee River. As an artist's hub, this is the perfect place to come and mellow out after your visit to Day Spa Birmingham or unwind after a noisy afternoon playing slots. You'll find handcrafted and eclectic furnishings and accessories, rare books, organic food and beauty products, sculptures, artwork, shoes, and tailored clothing on offer here.
